We were so excited to see, order, and send “holiday in a box” to a good friends daughter for college graduation! WHAT A HUGE FAIL!
We ordered the “Build your own 3 adventures” and chose the bi-monthly option. I emailed company with a question re: a seemingly unavailable “country choice”, never heard back, so just ordered 3 other known countries.
We specifically chose BI-MONTHLY as the college grad was moving across the country and starting a new life/job after college- wanted the joy, surprises, and fun to last for a while! We spent $200 English pounds for this gift. A month later, She got all the boxes on the same day.
After 3 emails and 6wks later, I finally got a response email from the company that states “Unfortunately I am currently in the process of closing The Holiday in a Box Co. down, and therefore we would not be able to continue to dispatch the order so far into the future.”
So, the company knew they were going out of business but didn’t offer the option to send a single order, cancel, or for us to make our own decision; instead, they took my money and dumped them all in the mail. Shameful!
Company final response: “I hope you can understand our preference to send your order in full rather than refund the difference.” NOT THEIR DECISION TO MAKE- IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MINE.
