How Stitch Fix Works

The key to success with Stitch Fix starts with taking a personalized style quiz so that the stylist at Stitch Fix can get to know you. Choose from 3 categories: Women. Men or Kids. The first question is about the reasons you are excited to try Stitch Fix. Selection options are: Having my own stylist, Browse a curated shop, Unique pieces, A fun surprise, Get seasonal looks, Inspiration, Update my wardrobe, Find my best fit, Transform my style and Do my shopping for me.

Next enter your height and weight and the sizes you typically wear in different clothing categories including shoes. Then there is a series of questions about how different clothing categories typically fit you. Then comes the fun part, questions about your general style. A series of outfits are chosen and you get to give them a thumbs up or thumbs down.

From there you get to choose which stores you typically shop at for clothes. Next up, your budget for how much you typically like to spend on certain clothing items. Enter your birthday and then tell Stitch Fix any specific wardrobe needs you have and you’re all set with your first curated Fix delivery.

Want your Fix deliveries sent on a certain schedule? You can choose every 2-3 weeks, every month, every 2 Months or seasonally every 3 months. If you aren’t sure what you think you’ll want, you can choose to have Stitch Fix deliveries on demand. You can change your mind at any time.

Is Stitch Fix Worth It?

We’ve all made it through the past couple of years and the methods of traditional storefront shopping have changed. Plus, your time and money are precious. If you don’t love going to the mall to shop, Stitch Fix deliveries will save you time and gas money by delivering the dressing room to your door!

Maybe you’ve been living in sweat pants and t-shirts working from home the past 2 years and need a wardrobe update to go back to the office. Stitch Fix helps you keep up with the latest fashion trends and try before you buy, all from the comfort of your own home.

Stitch Fix does not have a subscription fee, but there is a $20 styling fee for each Fix delivery. If you decide to purchase items in your Fix delivery box, the $20 is credited towards that purchase. And if you decide to keep the 5 items, you get an additional 25% off your entire purchase. With free shipping both ways, Stitch Fix is definitely worth a try!

Stitch Fix Tips

Did you know that you can update your Stitch Fix personal style quiz at any time? Maybe you’ve lost or gained weight or want to try a new style, Stitch Fix makes it easy.

With the addition of Stitch Fix Kids you can create a Stitch Fix Family account. Just add up to 4 kids to your individual account and all of your referrals and any other credits are all combined into one account. Your spouse or partner will need to get their own account, but you can use your referral code and get the $25 credit to your account when your spouse pays their first $20 referral fee.

In addition to curated Fix deliveries, Stitch Fix now offers Stitch Fix Freestyle which is an a la carte online store. Simply visit the Freestyle tab on your account and browse individual items and outfit recommendations. You can then buy items directly from there.

Stitch Fix also has Extra items that can be added to your Fix delivery in addition to your stylist’s picks. Most of the items in the Extra section are essentials such as socks and basics but occasionally they have some special treats in there!

How Stitch Fix Compares to Other Personal Stylist Subscription Boxes

Stitch Fix versus DailyLook Elite

DailyLook Elite is another curated clothing delivery box service with a few differences from Stitch Fix. The stylist fee for Daily Look is $40 a delivery, but you get 7-12 personalized items in your box. With Stitch Fix the stylist fee is $20 a delivery and you get 5 curated items per delivery.

Shipping is free with both Stitch Fix and Daily Look, but with Daily Look you have 5 days to try on and decide what you want to purchase, whereas with Stitch Fix you only get 3 days. Items in your DailyLook Elite box are generally more high end with the average price point per item of $80. Stitch Fix has high quality designer clothing as well, but if you choose a lower spending limit in your personal style quiz, the items in your Fix delivery are much more affordable.

Both Stitch Fix and Daily Look curated box deliveries start with a personalized style quiz. Daily Look’s quiz is a bit more detailed and allows you to link your social media accounts so your stylist can get to know your everyday style a little better.

The main difference between the 2 is that Daily Look only offers clothing for women, whereas with Stitch Fix you get access to both Men and Kids clothing options. If you’re a single woman and have a big clothing budget, then DailyLook Elite may be for you. If you have a family and want to get yourself and the kiddos styled at an affordable price, then Stitch Fix is your best bet!
