I just recently bought a one-time thrift box, and had a great experience. Julia followed up via email right after I purchased, and gathered details about me via a more general questionnaire but then also encouraged me to send her any details or style pics via email. The box came pretty quickly, and I really liked all the pieces; there was a mix of more vintage pieces (90s era) and more recent items that were just secondhand. She also included a personalized, handwritten letter. I really appreciate how custom and personal the whole experience was (versus some of the big company subscription clothing boxes). I will definitely be getting another box in the future.
I am extremely disappointed in my experience. I had to hound the curator to get back to me. On several occasions she said she would get back to me at a specified date and it came and went with no communication. The box I received had only one item that fit and was my style. She tried creating a style board but again, communication was spotty and the board did not reflect my style. I love the concept of this subscription, but until the kinks are worked out, it’s not worth your time or energy. You will not get the individualized experience you might be hoping for.
