I was excited to finally get a slot in their subscription queue (which is by invitation only). What a disappointment though! The box is supposed to contain one “large” item and several smaller planner and stationary items, to exceed the value of the subscription price (not cheap at $24). However, the contents were abysmal.

There was a roll of ugly plasticky Halloween washi (and with Halloween only a week away…not sure why it was included in this kit) and a black and grey chevron washi. There were two sticky note pads, one a pink pad with a vintage “paper doll” type illustration and the other a thought bubble. Both of these are of the type that you can order from Amazon for less than $1, and have few sheets and little “sticky”. In fact, I had trouble pulling the top sheet off of both, which mean the first few sheets of each sticky pad are ruined (something that’s common with these very cheap sticky notes and page flags from overseas). There was a package of page flags that were so misprinted that one had NO design at all on it and the others were clearly “seconds” with between 1/8 and 1/4 of an inch of plain white paper showing in a diagonal line where the design didn’t print at all. NONE of these page flags worked either, they would not pull free and when you tried, they ripped and tore. I had to throw all of the page flags and sticky notes away; they were useless.

There was a pen with a galaxy print on it (galaxy print was last winter…not this winter). And the “Large” item in this kit was… a large paper clip with a kawaii bear on it. On mine, the bear had been glued on crooked.

Obviously I cancelled my subscription to Ink and Wink immediately on receiving this box. What a huge huge waste of money. I will use the grey chevron washi possibly, but nothing else in the kit is cute or usable, some of it ruined or so shoddily made it would be of no use to anyone. The total value of the contents of this kit was approximately $5. I paid $24. :/
