I have a few personal favorites of the monthly projects. Immediately I was drawn to the cross stitched tree ornaments that were featured as the project of the month. These are easy cross-stitch patterns to follow with a limited but very pretty thread color palette. The finish products are small ornaments to hang on your Christmas tree that feel festive while still having a wonderful handmade quality to them.

As can be seen in the gallery, one month’s project was a very elegant wreath made from felt leaves in a green, white, and gray color palette. This sort of project looks very nice hung up on the wall and also a chance to try out using felt in creative ways.

Another past kit I really enjoy is the simple but very pretty coasters made from yarn. These have such a nice cozy feel to them that is perfect for a cold winter night full of hot cocoa.

When considering signing up for any subscription box, you have to decide if it’s worth the money. The best way to do that? A pro-con list of course! And it’s only fair that we start with some of the drawbacks of Annie’s Creative Woman Kit-of-the-Month Club.

The Drawbacks 

The biggest drawback of Annie’s Creative Woman Kit-of-the-Month Club is also one of the biggest features of it: the variety of types of project that will be sent to you. Because you won’t know what the month’s project is, you can’t know if you will be given a project that is knitting-based or card-making or anything else. While this can be very fun, it can also be frustrating. If you hate soap making, it’s disappointing to then get a kit that is all about soap making.

These crafts are designed to be pretty simple to allow anyone to try out new types of crafting and making. This leads us to the other issue that can arise; you may be sent a project that is based in a craft you already know very well. If you are a seasoned quilter, a kit that teaches and uses basic quilting rules, may be boring or frustrating to deal with.

The Positives 

Now that we’ve addressed the drawbacks, let’s switch gears a little to talk about the positive side of purchasing an Annie’s Creative Woman Kit of the Month Club Member ship.

1. You get to try out all kinds of crafts without spending tons of money on a new hobby. This way you can dip your toe into new areas without breaking the bank.
